Scott and Co Estate Agents are fortunate to be situated on the junction of a busy crossroads in Burnley, Lancashire. Briercliffe Road is the main road to the hospital, consequently we have numerous enquiries from hospital staff that are on short term contracts with the hospital. We also have many enquiries from the general public. Many letting agents are situated in office blocks and are not readily available.

Unlike other letting agents who have plenty of properties to offer prospective tenants we have a waiting list of tenants and not enough properties to let.

When we receive instructions to let a property we carry out an inspection to make sure the property meets our standards. The reason for this is that once the property is let we do not want the tenant constantly complaining and withholding rents because of minor works which could have been resolved before they moved in.

We have our own building team who carry out refurbishments at an agreed price and these include time served Joiners and plasterers, decorators, NICEIC registered electricians and CORGI registered plumbers. We use a local company who we have very good relations with for all our double glazing needs see link.

When we do a refurbishment for a landlord we take digital pictures of before and after to show the landlord we have done the job properly. See our refurbishment examples here.

All certificates: Gas safety certificate, NICEIC certificate for the electrics, and FENSA certificate for the double glazing are passed to the landlord for safe keeping.

We like to think that although it is the landlord who pays us for our services, we also work for and on behalf of the tenant because in our experience a happy tenant will look after the house as if it is theirs not as if it were a squat.

We are always contactable even outside normal office hours and we can usually sort even major problems quickly and efficiently.
